From the Pacific to salsa
Originally from Olaya Herrera, on the Pacific coast of Nariño, Richie developed a musical approach connecting salsa, timba, son montuno and guaguancó with sounds from his region. The marimba de chonta, cununos and guasá are part of this meeting of tradition and contemporary music.
His background as a songwriter and performer brings a distinctive perspective to his relationships with artists and musical projects.
A vision that brings talent together
The story of Richie y su conjunto Marea traces the formation of a collective project in the early 2010s. A review published in 2013 documents its early stages and songs such as «Cali Original» and «Mi suegra».
This journey offers an insight into the creative work that preceded and continues alongside his management activity.
Voices that cross paths
In 2018, Radio Nacional de Colombia highlighted «Un amor bonito», his collaboration with Junior Jein, and the presence of musicians from different Pacific communities in his orchestra.
His catalog also includes «Yo soy su artista», with Mayito Rivera: another link between his Colombian project and Cuban music.
